I adored this scene from last night's Game of Thrones because Tyrion and Varys are comedy gold together with their snarking. "Imagine Stannis' terror." "I am trying." Oh, God, that killed me, nearly as much as the earlier Bronn-Tyrion-Varys scene.
Interestingly enough, I find myself utterly indifferent to the Stark boys, which is a marked change from the books. In those, I loathed Sansa (and now I feel really, really bad for her), enjoyed Arya's plot (and I like it even more on the show), and was really interested in both Robb & Jon's stories (whereas on the show, I want the scene to change and go back to Tyrion.) I'm exactly as interested in Bran's story in both formats, which is to say I could care less about him.
My, how the format changes me...

Just got back from watching and DAMN, Whedon knocked this one way, way out of the park. It was perfect.
Fully intend on watching it a couple more times in the theater...

Peter Dinklage is a god amongst men. When I grow up, I want to be as cool as Tyrion Lannister.

Damn them. They're trying to make me ship Arya/Gendry, aren't they? Sure, I know Arya's still preteen & Gendry is at least in his late teens, but I absolutely loved the rapport I've seen between Maisie Williams and Joe Dempsie in last week's episode ... and it occurs to me that this could be Martin's subtle way of linking the Starks and Baratheon's together since Lyanna and Robert obviously didn't end well.
Plus? Tyrion Lannister continues to rule. Way to go, Mr. Dinklage. You are truly a (tiny) god amongst men. Nothing I like more than watching smart characters and Tyrion? Tyrion is brilliant...

I just love how the nifty little news thing that appears on the main LJ page when I come here is invariably slanted left. Want an explanation why I don't use LJ much anymore? That'd be a nice place to start since I'm not, ya know, a socialist who automatically believes the crap the media pushes about the POTUS, or that kid who just died, or any of the silly politics that I fervently disagree with.
Just ... ugh.
Just ... ugh.

... until I hit the Big Four Oh.
Ugh.
Anyway, taking suggestions about how to lament the date, preferably with something I can actually afford.

So, it's been almost a week since I finished Mass Effect 3 ... late Saturday, actually.
And I still haven't quite recovered from my general disappointment. It's amazing how a crappy ending can ruin a franchise...
This guy sums up my feelings ... although be warned, spoilers ahoy.
